Subject: Re: Please vote against the Environmental Planning and Assessment Amendment (Planning Systems Reforms) Bill 2025 (Case Ref: AG61799)Dear Kathy
Thanks for getting in contact with Alex about the planning bill. A number of other constituents and organisations have raised similar concerns.
The Labor Government secured the support of the Coalition Opposition prior to introducing the bill, and as the bill has the support of the major parties, it is likely to pass the parliament.
Despite this, Alex and other Independents are working closely with councils, environment groups and the government to negotiate improvements and our office is currently drafting amendments to address key concerns with the bill, including those you have outlined.
You will be able to follow the progress of the bill and amendments at https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/bills/Pages/bill-details.aspx?pk=18807
Regards
Donna
