Vale Graham Lewis

Former Vice-President of the Ku-ring-gai Preservation Trust (KPT) and long term supporter of Ku-ring-gai’s heritage and environment, Graham Lewis, passed away on 23 August 2025.

Graham was a self-taught webmaster and designed and managed FOKE’s first website.

Graham was a thorough gentleman and a respected and admired resident of Ku-ring-gai.  Not only was he a leading voice in the resident action group KPT, he also was the President of the Ku-ring-gai Historical Society from 2014-2015.

The photo below shows a 2006 KPT Newsletter when Graham Lewis was Vice-President.  It outlines the same issues that we continue to fight today – with the lead article heading being ‘The trashing of Ku-ring-gai’.  The newsletter reports on ministerial and departmental correspondence that showed that the government’s intention was to “alter the current character” of Ku-ring-gai and effect a “change in the character of the existing urban form”.  Sound familiar?

FOKE sends their condolences to his family during this sad time.

A Celebration of Graham’s Life will be held in the Magnolia Chapel, Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium, North Ryde on Wednesday 3rd September commencing at 1pm.
