Ku-ring-gai Council invited comments from the community regarding their proposed amendment to Part 14 of the Ku-ring-gai Development Control Plan (KDCP).

Eight Character Areas as part of Ku-ring-gai Local Character Background Study are proposed to be inserted at the beginning of Part 14 of the KDCP.

The inclusion of this amendment will mean that applications submitted to Council will have to have regard to local character and the setting of buildings. Improved reference to local character matters will enable better retention of the area’s values, including trees and landscaping, which are key across Ku-ring-gai.
