Over 100 residents expressed their concern, indeed anger, at the Extraordinary Meeting motion on Monday 21 September 2026.

Residents from numerous community groups – including Natural Turf Alliance, supporters of natural turf at the Norman Griffith Oval and Marian Street Theatre decided to hold their own community forum as they argued Council failed to provide a Public Forum for its residents to express their vies on this crucial vote.

Numerous speakers highlighted their feelings that Ku-ring-gai Council is failing in transparency and governance.

FOKE is waiting for the Minutes of the meeting but at this stage assumes that the Councillors voted to supported the Notice of Motion and proceed with plastic turf, approve 24.4 million and cut the consultation process out.

Cr Indu Ballachandran highlighted the lack of PROPER GOVERNANCE!

When was the vote about to take over 100 members of the community walked off chanting “SHAME” & “ICAC” as they departed.
