Update of Housing Delivery Authority (HDA) minutes that have approved State Significant Developments, as of 8 August 2025

219 applications have been declared for SSD out of 446 applications for a total of 79,440 dwellings.

The deliberations have been over approximately 19 hours of meeting time since 7 February to 8 August or about 1.5 – 2 hours per meeting (translating into about 2-3 mins per application).

2 May            18 applications (out of 47 considered) declared for SSD for 5072 dwellings

TOTAL     79, 440 dwellings recommended as SSDs in 6 months for 219 applications or an average of 380 dwellings per application

The above numbers do not include any HAD SSD recommendations for Ku-ring-gai.

At the 15 July meeting there were 7 Ku-ring-gai TOD SSDs attempting to get approval via the HDA route at the 15 July HDA meeting despite the majority already being processed on the Major Planning Portal as SSD’s namely:
